Tourism accounts for approximately 10% of the GDP of the Georgian economy and 9% of employment 

The year 2025 was exceptionally successful for the tourism industry of Georgia.

The country hosted a record number of tourists. As Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili said, more than 5.5 million tourist visits were made in 2025, which is a historical maximum, and compared to 2024, the increase in tourist visits amounted to approximately 8.5%.

According to the information of the Deputy Minister, there is significant growth in all those target markets, where the Ministry of Economy and the Tourism Administration have been consistently working for years in the direction of marketing campaigns, raising the country's awareness and supporting direct air traffic.
